Somewhere to Cry is about emotions regulation, self-compassion and self-forgiveness. It is about what is hold inside, often hidden and erased, the simplicity of the human being and vulnerability.
Seascapes are vast open places in which the water is a symbol of strength and softness. As inner harmony became lost, people have sought an environment that was intact. These landscapes are not snapshots, but meticulous compositions following the concept of “soulscapes”.
These bodies of water are filled with tears and forever guarding the secrets they contain. Neither shame nor guilt, the shells retain the echoes of the waves to leave only a peaceful silence. As I explore the life and history contained in these discarded seashells scraps, I allow their stories to work on my own biases of brokenness, wholeness and vulnerability. The project is a relentless search for poetry in the debris, an affirmation of life and possibility.
